PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fatty acid ester in a high yield by the reaction of a fatty acid with an olefin. SOLUTION: This method for producing a fatty acid ester by reacting a fatty acid with an olefin comprises using a superacid obtained by allowing an oxide capable of containing a hydrated water of at least one kind of metal selected from group III and IV metals in the periodic table, and iron, to carry sulfate ion, and having <=-12 Hammett acid strength (H0 ). |
