An unknown electrical circuit (1) has two contacts (2,3) to which the detection device (6) is connected, to apply an electrical reference signal (SR) by electromagnetic induction. A modified signal (SM), which corresponds to the reference signal altered by the electrical circuit (1), is received by induction. By comparison of the two signals the circuit (1) resistance is determined. An Independent claim is made for a device for detection of a voltage of an unknown circuit and measurement of its resistance.
