The inventive recognition chart has a raster arrangement (1, 3; 15; 17) wherein geometrical symbols (5, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) of different dimensions have been formed by a raster displacement (1 <=> 17; 3 <=> 15). The purpose of the recognition chart is to establish a non-organically determined loss of a person's ability to recognise the symbols when the person recognises large symbols from a certain distance but not smaller symbols. Healthy persons and patients with an organic (real) visual defect can recognise either none or all of the symbols (visual symbols) (5, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) on the recognition chart. Hysterical patients or malingerers only see the large symbols (5) and will state that they can no longer see the small characters (6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) (since with all other optical sight charts, the subject's sight is abnormal if he/she cannot see the small symbols). |
