PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the mounting space for various electronic equipments such as a computer and to improve the function by reducing the size and the thickness of a recording medium driving device used for a computer and a word processor, for example, and an electronic equipment provided with the device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a cover plate 6, with is provided with a port 6a to receive a jacket J that holds a recording medium, a holder 10, which is arranged adjacent to the plate 6 and holds the jacket J between a rising position and a lowering position, a projecting guide section 10f, which is provided at an extended place from the holder 10 and is separated from the port 6a with a gap, and a shutter 7 which is arranged between the port 6a and the section 10f. The shutter 7 is rotated around a shaft by the inserting operation of a jacket, the port 6a transits from a first condition, in which the port 6a is closed, to a second condition, in which the port 6a is opened and the shutter 7 bridges the gap between the port 6a and the section 10f and guides the inserting operation of the jacket. |
