PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an error of fuel injection characteristics resulted from a specific difference of an actuator in a fuel injection nozzle in which a liquid pressure chamber is formed on one side of a piezoactuator and a needle valve is opened and closed based on a pressure variation in the liquid pressure chamber caused when a drive voltage is applied to the actuator. SOLUTION: A liquid pressure chamber initial volume V is obtained from the dimension L1 of the actuator assembly part of an injection valve, the length L0 of a piezoactuator 12 under the condition that an initial pressure equivalent to a pressure in the use of the injection valve is applied to a liquid pressure chamber, and a liquid pressure chamber cross section S. Also a liquid pressure chamber volume variationΔV is obtained from the displacementΔL of the piezoactuator under the condition that a drive voltage is applied to the piezoactuator 12 under a pressure loaded condition and a liquid pressure chamber cross section S. In addition, the length correction amount of the piezoactuator 12 at which the ratio of a volume variation amountΔV to the initial volume V becomes a predetermined reference value is obtained. Then shims of those thicknesses determined according to the length correction amount are inserted in the piezoactuator 12.
