PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image carrier from being re-transferred and to prevent a transferred image on a transfer sheet from being damaged by providing a mode for electrifying the image area brought into contact again with the image carrier in the nontransfer state to the same polarity as the normal polarity of toner after transfer is completed in forming multiple images. SOLUTION: When the image area is split in the moving direction of a transfer sheet and the same transfer sheet is repeatedly used for a transfer to form multiple images for the split image areas, this image forming device is set to the mode that the transferred image area is brought into contact again with a photoreceptor drum 206 in the nontransfer state. The output of a transfer charger 205 is made weak when the image forming area of the copy image passes through the photoreceptor drum 206 in the nontransfer state. Even when the electric resistance of the transfer sheet and the charged quantity of the toner are reduced due to the humidity conditioning in the high-humidity environment, the toner can be attracted and kept on the transfer sheet, and the toner can be prevented from being transferred again to the photoreceptor drum 206. |
