PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize good heat sublimation transfer recording by superposing heat-generating elements of a partial area of process lines adjacent to each other in an up-down direction thereby carrying out foundation-processing to a recording paper, and making an energy applied to the heat-generating elements of an upper and a lower end parts of each process line larger than an energy applied to the heat-generating elements of the other area. SOLUTION: When a foundation process mode is selected, a control part 27 makes a heat-generating element of a thermal head 7 generate heat, thereby applying energy to a foundation process ink ribbon to thermally transfer a foundation process ink to a recording paper one line by one line. At this time, each process line by the foundation process ink is changed so that upper and lower end parts overlap by 1-5 dots, preferably, 4 dots (approximately 160 μm). Moreover, the energy to be applied to the heat-generating element of two dots from each of the upper and lower end parts of each process line among the overlapped four dots is controlled to be larger than an energy to be applied to the other part. |
