The garment, made from front and back panels (11, 12) sewn together to leave holes for the neck and arms, has reinforcing elements (21a, 21b) shaped to form recesses for the pectoral muscles. The reinforcing elements can be padded to emphasise muscular development or, in the case of a female garment, give extra shape to the bust. A variant of the design can incorporate additional reinforcing elements for the trapezoid muscles. The reinforcing elements can be in the form of detachable inserts which are fastened inside the garment by buttons, press studs, hooks or adhesive strips. Their pads are made from a non-woven fabric or synthetic resin which is elastic, soft and supple, e.g. polyester. |
