PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent for Cs ion which has high radiation resistance and acid resistance and has high adsorption performance to Cs ion even in the case other cations such as sodium ion coexist in a large quantity when used in a strongly acidic solution. SOLUTION: This adsorbent for Cs ion is an inorganic ion-exchange body obtained by firing a mixture of a crystalline phosphate compound having the formula M<1> x H2-x M<2> (PO4 )2 .nH2 O with an alkoxysilane or its hydrolyzed products at not lower than 750 deg.C and not higher than 1500 deg.C and alternatively bringing the resultant fired body into contact with an acid.
