<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce dimethyl carbonate in a good efficiency by suing a synthetic gas without using a high purity methanol and carbon monoxide. SOLUTION: This method for producing dimethyl carbonate is to pass through processes consisting of (1) a first reaction process 4 for generating methanol from a synthetic gas, (2) a gas liquid separating process 6 for separating the reaction product from the first reaction process to methanol and an non-reacted synthetic gas by the gas liquid separation, (3) a circulating process 7 for recycling the non-reacted synthetic gas from the liquid separating process to the first reaction process, (4) a first separating process 8 for separating carbon monoxide from the synthetic gas, (5) a second reaction process for generating dimethyl carbonate by reacting methanol from the gas liquid separating process with carbon monoxide from the first separating process and oxygen. It is preferable (6) to separate the reaction mixture from the second reaction process 13 to dimethyl carbonate and un-reacted methanol, and (7) recycle the non- reacted methanol to the second reaction process.</p> |
