Preparation of mixtures of uranium and pla - tonium dioxides for nuclear fuels

The two components are mixed in form of powders with low tendency to form lumps. They are then fritted and compressed to form fuel elements without addition of a binder. The powder is prepared by thermal decomposition of ammonium uranyl carbonate or ammonium diuranate and plutonium oxalate.
