SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL, AND PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPOSITION USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a silver halide photographic sensitive material possible to constitute a novel X-ray photographing system superior in processing stability while keeping high contrast characteristics for photographing breasts by restraining an iodine content to silver to a specified atomic percentage or less and making the contrast of this photographic material in a specified range. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains a silver halide emulsion having an iodine content of <=0.9mol% of the total silver used in at least one layer and it can obtain a contrast of 3.7-4.8 by specified development conditions. Such a high-contrast photosensitive material permits a superior image to be obtained in the field of low energy breast X-ray photography using a <=40kVp tube voltage. The regulation of the iodine content in such a range permits fluctuation of performances due to that of processing conditions occurring often in the high-contrast photosensitive material to be restrained and stable photographic performances to be obtained even in the case of using developing solutions deteriorated due to oxidation with the lapse of time, etc.
