PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material having excellent reproducibility of halftone. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material comprising a recording layer containing a free radical generating agent for generating free radical by absorbing a light and a dye to be erased by the radical generated from the agent, one component of the agent or dye is enclosed by two or more types of microcapsules having different glass transition points together with organic solvent, and the recording layer further contains color erasing inhibitor.
