The device has at least one beam transmitter (1) whose X-ray beams are detected by at least one solid state detector (4) with image points arranged in a matrix. The device has at least one correction unit (6) which receives the image signals (5) from the detector (4), of the current bright image of an object (3) under investigation and also receives a possibly present back light signal of at least one dark image. The correction unit (6) controls the beam transmitter (1) in dependence on the presence of back light signals and/or the intensity of the back light signals. The correction unit (6) also corrects the image signals (5) of the current bright image e.g. by subtraction of a low pass filtered back light signals.
