The present invention provides a flat panel screen device, particularly a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a plasma display panel (PSP), and manufacturing processes thereof. A laser transcription method is used to form barrier spacers or walls which are located between LCD or PDP superior and inferior substrates, to maintain space between both substrates in a predetermined distance. That is, a donor film including a base film, a light-absorption layer and a transcription layer, is placed upon LCD inferior substrate, wherein a transparent substrate, a transparent electrode, and an alignment layer are piled up in sequence, or upon PDP inferior substrate, wherein a transparent substrate, a leading electrode and a dielectric layer are piled up in sequence, and then a laser ray is transcribed thereupon to form barrier spacers having uniform height and width. Therefore, space between substrates is uniform, so that presentation characteristics in display may be improved by a simple elaborating process.
