PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the positively charging characteristic and to prevent the deterioration of the charging characteristic in the repeated use for a long time, by using a frictionally charging member including the specific fluorine- contained quaternary ammonium salt in the surface. SOLUTION: A frictionally charging member includes the fluorinecontained quaternary ammonium salt represented by a formula, at least in the surface. In the formula, n and m are positive integers, and R<1> -R<3> are a hydrogen atom, a C1 -C10 alkyl group or an aryl group. X<-> is an organic or inorganic anion. n is preferably 3-20, and m is preferably 1-10. Further as the aryl group, a phenyl group, a tolyl group or the like can be used. The frictional charging member is a member for applying the charge necessary for developing an electrostatic latent image, to the toner, by kept into contact with the toner, such as the carrier particles for frictionally charging the toner, a toner conveying member such as a sleeve, and a toner supply regulating member such as a doctor blade or the like. |
