PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickup, which is easily adjusted to produce a large output, to obtain a wide dynamic range, to improve the frequency characteristics at higher frequencies and to produce a peak at a desired frequency band, by specifying the shape of the pole piece. SOLUTION: The pickup is provided with pole pieces 1, which take out musical sound signals from the vibration of strings of a string musical instrument by electromagnetic induction and are magnetized and have an approximate column shape, and coils which are wound around the pieces 1. The surface shape of an end face 11 is a regular n polygon (where n is a natural number larger than 3) at one end of the side facing against the string of the pieces 1. Moreover, the face 11 and surfaces 12, which include respective sides of the regular n polygon and respectively make a prescribed angle with respect to the face 11, are used to chamfer one end of the piece 1. Note that the angle between the chamfered each surface 12 and the face 11 is respectively set to 45 degrees. By respectively rotating the angle of the end face square of the piece 1 for 45 degrees with respect to the longitudinal direction of the strings, signals having different frequency characteristics are obtained. |
