PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a high pressure muffler separable from a fixed scroll and prevent the deformation of the end plate of the fixed scroll by mounting a cover member on a division laid between the reverse side of the fixed scroll and a sealed vessel for forming the muffler, and connecting a delivery pipe to the muffler. SOLUTION: A scroll compression element 2 housed in a sealed vessel 1 and turned with a motor-driven element 3, has a fixed scroll 7 and an oscillation scroll 8, and the internal space of the vessel 1 is separated into a high pressure chamber 9 and a low pressure chamber 10 via a division 12 fixed to the vessel 1 at a position near the fixed scroll 7 through a shrinkage fitting or a pressed-in process. A delivery port 33 and a delivery valve 34 for opening and closing the port 65 are provided on the division 12. At the same time, a cover member 36 for forming a delivery muffler chamber 9 is mounted on the division 12, and a delivery pipe 36 is connected to the division 12. The muffler chamber 9 is thereby separated from the fixed scroll 7, and the end plate 11 of the fixed scroll 7 is prevented.
