IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND IMAGE ELEMENT FORMED BY THAT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to form such a mixed image of a melt thermal transfer image satisfying almost the same durability as a printed image and a silver halide photographic image having high picture quality. SOLUTION: As for this method, an image is formed in the following processes. (1) A silver halide photographic sensitive material having a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a reflecting base body and containing <=10mg/m<2> calcium is exposed and developed to form an image. Then another image is formed on the surface where the picture is formed by using a melt thermal transfer ink the surface layer of which contains a resin having hydrophilic groups. Otherwise, (2) a silver halide photographic sensitive material having a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a surface layer containing gelatin on a reflecting base body is exposed and developed to form an image. The gelatin shows >=50 difference in the specific optical rotary degree between at 20 deg.C and at 40 deg.C. Then another image is formed on the surface where the picture is formed by using a melt thermal transfer ink the surface layer of which contains a resin having hydrophilic groups.
