PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peptide bearing a specific amino acid sequence on its C-terminal, having a physiological activity to promote the oligophagy of macrophage, and useful for feed, foods, cosmetics, medicines, biochemical reagents, etc., as a cellular immunopotentiator. SOLUTION: This new peptide bears an amino acid sequence on its C-terminal composed of at least five amino acid residues and expressed by the formula, having physiological activity to promote the oligophagy (phagocytotic activity) of macrophage, and being useful for e.g. feed, foods, cosmetics, medicines, biochemical reagents as a cellular immunopotentiator. This new peptide is obtained by a process wherein 1/100wt. times of trypsin is added to an aqueous solution of egg albumin to digest it at 37 deg.C for 5h followed by putting the resultant system into boiling water for 10min to deactivate the enzyme, and 2- mercaptoethanol is then added to the system followed by fractionation with the linear concentration gradient of 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid-cont. acetonitrile by high-performance liquid chromatography and the fraction with guinea pig ileum shrinkage activity is collected. |
