<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink which is excellent in recording characteristics (response to signals, stable drop formation, stable delivery, long-term continuous recording, and stable ink delivery after long-term suspension of recording), ink stability, storage stability, fixability to recording materials, quick-drying properties, print quantity, etc., and reduced in odor, and which is useful in ink-jet recording techniques of various types to give an excellent print. SOLUTION: A mixture of 1wt.% Acid Yellow 23, 9wt.% polyethylene glycol (average mol.wt., 200), 6wt.% tetraethylene glycol monobutyl ether, and 84wt.% pure water is sufficiently stirred and then filtered through a 0.8-μm membrane filter to produce a water-based ink. When used in ink-jet recording, the ink is excellent in all of recording properties, fixability to the recording material, quick-drying properties, print quality, etc., and reduced in odor. The ink gives excellent prints. It is useful in ink-jet recorders of various types.</p> |
