Compounds of formula (I) and (II) are new, in which A, Y = 1-8C alkyl, 3-8C alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl or 7-9C phenylalkyl, or A + Y = 2-5C alkylene, optionally with in-chain O, NH or NCH3; R1 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R2 = 1-8C alkyl, NH2, -NR3-(CHR1)m-NAY, -OR4, -E-ÄXC-N(R3)Üc-(CHR1)m-NAY, or phenyl (optionally substituted with OH, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy); R3 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 3-8C alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl, -(CH2)b-NÄC(X)R2Ü-(CHR1)m-NAY or -(CHR1)m-NAY (Group R"'); R4 = 1-4C alkyl, cyclohexyl or benzyl; E = -(CH2)a-, -CH=CH-, benzenetriyl, 4,5-cyclohex-1,2-enylene, phenylene, cyclohexylene, -CHOH-CHOH- or -NH(CH2)bNH-; X = O or S; R5-R9 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 3-8C alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl, 7-9C phenylalkyl, -C2H4OH, -C3H6OH or -(CHR1)m-NAY, or R6 + R7 or R8 + R9 = 2-5C alkylene, optionally with in-chain O, NH or NCH3; a = 0-8; b = 2-12; c = 1 or 2; m = 2-6. Also claimed are (i) stabiliser combinations containing (A) organic zinc compound(s) with a Zn-O- or Zn-S- linkage and (B) compound(s) (I) or (II), (ii) compositions containing an organic material, preferably a chlorine-containing polymer, and a combination as in (i); and (iii) a process for stabilising Cl-containing polymers by compounding with the above stabiliser combination. |
