Plastic strip (8) fixed to a metal plate with swivellable feet forms the base of a folding warning triangle for carrying in motor vehicles. Two plastic side strips (12, 16; 11, 15) and the base strip have outer, red reflecting parts (8b, 12b, 16b, 11b, 15b) and inner red fluorescent parts (8a, 12a, 16a, 11a, 15a) which are dyed in the mass with a fluorescent dyestuff. Preferably the three plastic strips are dyed as a whole and the reflecting parts are rigidly mounted on them as separate parts. Strips are preferably of transparent plastic, such as polycarbonate or polymethacrylate.
