PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the individual selective calling receiver recognizing the arrival of a call through incoming call vibration even in a location where other vibration is delivered from the surrounding. SOLUTION: The user of a portable telephone set selects a pattern of vibration optionally not confused as surrounding noise and vibration in steps S210, S220 for the function setting processing and sets it to the portable telephone set. Thus, even when the user is resident in a driven vehicle or a noisy shop, the incoming call vibration to the portable telephone set and surrounding vibration are distinguished and the arrival of a call to the portable set is surely recognized.
