The distributor has a distributor piston (1) with four inlet slits (5). For each rev. of the piston two lie opposite distributor grooves (3) linked by a boring (6) and permit fuel to be supplied to two outlet borings (4) at a right angle in the distributor body. The distributor has a rotary distributor for increasing the injection frequency by a factor of N, where N /- 2. The rotational speed of distributor injection pump of internal combustion engine with z injection nozzles is kept constant. Where injections are uniformly distributed over a revolution, the centre angle between the outlet borings must be equal to a multiple (/- 1) of the centre angle in front between the inlet grooves, and must be different from the centre angle between the distributor grooves.
