PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an apparatus, which inputs the position of a destination on an atlas and displays the present position on the atlas. SOLUTION: A map 7 is divided into many rectangular regions RA having the same size, and dividing lines are written on the map. A two-dimensional display device 10, which is slightly larger than the magnitude of one region RA, is overlapped on one region RA on the map. When a destination is inputted, a lateral line 15h and a vertical line 15v of a cross cursor 15 on the display device 10 are individually moved respectively, and the destination in the region RA is specified with the intersecting point of both lines. The latitude and the longitude of the destination are obtained by the coordinates of the region RA and the positions of the lateral line 15h and the vertical line 15v in the region. When the present position is displayed, the latitude and the longitude of the present position detected by a GPS are converted into the coordinates and the region RA and the position in the region on the map, the coordinates of the region RA are displayed by the numerical values and the lateral line 15h and the vertical line 15v are displayed at the positions in the region. |
