Dry solid fuel is burnt in a combustion chamber (2) located inside a stove with a feed device for supplying the fuel directly to the chamber comprises a tube (4) housing a screw conveyor (5) that is housed inside the air supply duct (6, 7) for the chamber. For most of its length the screw extends completely across the inside of the duct in which it is housed, leaving only a very small gap between the screw and duct. The mouth of the feed device leading into the chamber is provided with a mechanical flap (15) which is automatically closed by its own weight as soon as the feed device stops moving, closing off the chamber from the feed device. |
