PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to remove discharge product without using a supply fan and to realize the microminiaturization by providing a screen electrode having a hole for discharging charge via an air gap and a vent hole on the surface of the insulating film on a finger electrode, formed on a dielectric film on the surface of a line electrode. SOLUTION: An air gap 217 is formed at the lower layer of a screen electrode 214 in the charge generator for the electrostatic image forming apparatus. When the entire finger electrode 207 is exposed, corona discharge is generated at the entire finger electrode surface. To prevent it, a silicon oxide film 209 is formed on the surface of the electrode 207. Fine vent holes 216 are formed in a mesh state on the region where a plurality of charge generation control elements are disposed, and the air gap 217 is provided between the electrode 214 and the film 209 in the region A. On the other then A and, a polyimide film 211 is formed at the lower layer of the electrode 214 at the part except the region A. |
