发明名称 IMPROVED PLASMA DISPLAY USING LOW-VOLTAGE ELECTRODE MATERIAL
摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a improved plasma display to have higher resolution and reinforced mechanical strength with low operation voltage by using as the material for electrodes a specific low electron affinity material. SOLUTION: This plasma display is comprised of at least one plasma display cell, which is formed of a pair of electrodes (12: anode, 13: cathode) and a separator separating these electrode, and which encloses gas derived from rare gas dispersed in a volume. The improvement is that at least one of electrodes is formed of one material selected from a group consisted of diamond, aluminum nitride, and aluminum gallium nitride, all of which materials are low electron affinity materials having electron affinity of less than 3 electron volts. For example, a layer of such material 20 is added on the cathode 13. The low voltage affinity materials are, in general, in form of layer of thickness in a range of approximately 0.005 to 100 micron.</p>
