The lavatory seat laterally retracts the buttocks, expanding and opening the sphincter muscle of an individual sitting on the seat. It comprises two pads (2,3) which are laterally movable during seating of the individual. These movable pads are displaced laterally towards the seat outside under the effect of the individual's weight. During their lateral displacement they rise obliquely on the seat towards the inside or descend onto the outside of the seat from an initial position inside the seat. The movable parts are held and brought back into their initial positions by a spring (4). The spring is fixed to one part of the seat by screws (6).
