PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oscillation element oscillating at a specified frequency and an extremely nonlinear element by composing a barrier layer of a composite of at least two substances having different electric conduction carrier density. SOLUTION: A junction type element comprising A electrode 1 and B electrode 4, and a barrier layer 2 for separating the A electrode 1 and B electrode 4 touching them has such structure as the barrier layer 2 includes, due to various structure, a part where the electric conduction carriers exist locally or a local carrier level where the energy potential is not uniform in a substance susceptible to the carriers even if the carriers bearing the electric conduction carriers are distributed uniformly. These elements exhibit extreme nonlinearity on the current voltage characteristics between the A electrode 1 and B electrode 4 and have high frequency detecting action or oscillating action. |
