The present invention refers to a method and apparatus for a housing assembling welding for a crane beam. The method utilizes a light construction fastening portal crane, which can be moved upon the housing, to press plates to be welded against the housing internal structures. The apparatus comprises a frame structure (6) resting upon the housing upper surface on wheels, which acts as a cart, and comprising articulated vertical lever arms (5). The upper ends of said lever arms are interconnected with a force means (1), and the lower ends thereof are arranged to rest upon the housing from bellow.
