<p>PURPOSE: To lower a bit error rate as to the magnetic recording and reproducing device for forming a recording track to be inclined to the longitudinal direction of a magnetic tape and reproducing a signal of the recording track. CONSTITUTION: When the inclined recording track of the magnetic tape is reproduced by a reproducing head, a capstan motor 40 is controlled by a motor driver 39. A servo amt. is set by an ATF servo circuit 35 based on a reproducing signal from a reproducing amplifier 33, while a compensation amt. is set by an offset amt. setting circuit 36 based on the bit error rate calculated by a BER detecting circuit 34. Then, the capstan motor 40 is controlled in order to offset the reproducing head by the servo amt. and the compensation amt.</p> |
