PURPOSE: To improve the system performance of a cache flush device by shortening the time needed for the cache flush operations. CONSTITUTION: A cache flush device is provided with a bus I/F 22 which monitors a command showing that the data are updated in a cache memory, an external tag storage 26 which stores a tag to manage the data stored in a cache 16 and also stores a tag including an address showing the updated data also the state information showing an updating state when it is detected that the data are updated in the cache 16, an external tag reading device 28 which successively reads out the tags stored in the storage 26 when the updated data stored in the cache 16 must be written back into a main memory 12, and an external tag instruction generation device 34 which produces a command to transfer the updated data to the memory 12 from the cache memory based on the read information and outputs the command to a system bus 16. |
