Peptides for binding low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) characterised in that each peptide has an amino acid sequence represented by formula (1) or (2) and has an electric charge E satisfying the condition of +1</=E</=+4, wherein alpha represents Phe or Trp; beta represents Arg or Lys; X<1> to X<3> represent each an arbitrary amino acid residue; m, n, p, q and r satisfy the condition of 2</=m+n+p+q+r</=10; m and n satisfy the condition of 2</=m+n</=10 and 1</=m,n</=9; and p, q and r satisfy the conditions of 0</=p+q+r</=8, 0</=p,r</=8 and 0</=q</=5. The peptides not only have an excellent ability to specifically bind LDLs but also are excellent in safety. Thus they can be advantageously employed in reagents for LDL adsorbents, peptide drugs for diseases in which LDLs participate, and carrier peptides for drugs.
