ALGA-PROOFING AND MOLD-PROOFING CONCRETE

PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of algae and mold over a long period without deteriorating the natural environment using a decreased amount of alga-proofing and mold-proofing agent by mixing a concrete raw material containing cement and aggregate with an alga-proofing and mold-proofing agent in combination with a specific fine powder. CONSTITUTION: The objective alga-proofing and mold-proofing concrete is produced by kneading a concrete raw material containing cement and aggregate and 5-30wt.% (based on the cement) of at least one material selected from silica fume, fly ash and fine powder of blast furnace slag with water and kneading 1m<3> of the obtained ready-mixed concrete with 0.5-10kg of a selective organic herbicide and/or 0.3-6kg of an inorganic metallic ion antibacterial agent. The concrete has an extremely dense composition with decreased void content, suppresses the adhesion of alga and mold to enable the reduction of the addition amount of the alga-proofing and mold-proofing agent and the reduction of cost, prevents the deterioration of the natural environment of the applied site caused by the alga-proofing and mold-proofing agent and suppresses the generation of alga and mold over a long period by the addition of the alga-proofing and mold-proofing agent.
