1521318 Metal grids MESSERSCHMITTBOLKOW-BLOHM GmbH 25 Sept 1975 [5 Oct 1974] 39345/75 Heading E1K A metal grid, particularly for forming a three-dimensional elastically deformable wall, e.g. a double-walled reflector of paraboloid or hyperboloid form for, extensible antennae of an aerial, but also for use as a reinforcement, is produced by etching from a foil sheet with grid-forming elements interconnecting junction points, wherein the elements are of greater length in the plane of the grid than the shortest distances between two adjacent junction points, each junction point being constituted by the joining together of the ends of four or six of the grid-forming elements. Preferably, the grid-forming elements are sinusoidal or semi-circular. As shown, sinusoidal grid-forming elements St extend between junction points K which lie on the apices of an equilateral triangle. Alternatively, similar elements extend between junction points which lie on the apices of a square (Fig. 4, not shown). |
