<p>A flexible (bendable) applicator (1) for optical radiation for medical purposes consists of an optical fibre (3) for guiding the optical radiation, and a cladding (2) which is in the form of a flexible tube and accommodates the optical fibre. In order to design the applicator (1) such that it has a small system diameter and a constant bending radius, the optical fibre (3) is eccentrically connected to the cladding (2), specifically so as to prevent the longitudinal elongation of the cladding in the contact region between the optical fibre (3) and cladding (2). The cladding (2) is produced from a material which can be elongated in the longitudinal direction, and has a chamber (4) which is sealed at the distal end of the applicator and is connected to a feed line extending through the applicator for a flowable filler (filling material). <IMAGE></p> |
