<p>A semi-rigid tubular structure axle for a motor vehicle is described, which comprises a profiled centre region forming a cross-bar (3), the profile providing the centre region with bending strength and elastic distortion properties, wherein each of the ends (10, 11) of the cross-bar (3) has two sections of an open tube (12, 13, 14, 15) extending therefrom at an initial angle of less than 180° to each other, one of the sections (12, 14) at each end providing for the attachment of the linkages to the car body, the other of the two sections (13, 15) of each end providing for the attachment of the axle heads carrying the wheels.</p> |
