PURPOSE:To execute desired photographing by suspending temporarily an image magnification control when an object to be photographed moves to the outside of an image magnification controllable range, and restarting an image magnification control operation when the object to be photographed moves again to the inside of the controllable range. CONSTITUTION:Whether an object to be photographed exceeds a control range against a set image magnification or not is decided based on a focal distance information signal from a zoom code plate 40, a distance code plate 42, pulsers 48, 49, etc., and when it exceeds a controllable range, one/both of a focus driving means and a zoom driving means are stopped, thereafter, a focus detecting operation is continued. Subsequently, by an image magnification at the time point of the defocus quantity detected from an auto focus use CCD 14, etc., goes to controllable by the focus driving means, both the driving means are brought to operation control. In such a way, when the object to be photographed moves to an image magnification controllable range, the image magnification control operation is restarted by a simple processing, and desired photographing can be executed. |
