PRODUCTION OF COMPACT OF NI3AL INTERMETALLIC COMPOUND

摘要

PURPOSE: To produce a compact of an Ni3 Al intermetallic compd. with high dimensional precision. CONSTITUTION: A porous Ni sintered compact having 25-35% porosity is produced by sintering Ni powder having 10-100μm average particle diameter. This sintered compact is held under heating at 400-900 deg.C and a molten Al alloy having a compsn. consisting of 8-18wt.% Ni and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and heated to 660-1,100 deg.C is dropped on the surface of the sintered compact and allowed to react with Ni under spontaneous penetration into the sintered compact to produce the objective compact of an Ni3 Al intermetallic compd.
