PURPOSE: To provide the document preparing device for which convenience is improved by enabling the input of a decorative character in any arbitrary area. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with an LCD 16 for displaying a prepared document, keyboard 14 for inputting information for performing character or document operations and area setting, etc., and CPU 11 for processing input information from this keyboard 14 under prescribed control, displaying it on the LCD 16 and setting the decorative area according to prescribed input information. Then, the CPU 11 judges whether characters are inputted into the set decorative area or not in the case of inputting characters and performs control so as to apply prescribed decoration information to the characters existent in the decorative area and by displaying the input information on the LCD 16, the decorated characters can be directly inputted. |
