PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal projector capable of matching the size of a projected image by easily correcting transverse chromatic aberration in every color. CONSTITUTION: This projector is provided with color separation means 4 and 5 separating emitted light from a light source 1 to plural color components, plural liquid crystal panels 9, 16 and 21 forming images corresponding to the respective color components from the color separation means 4 and 5, color synthesis means 11 and 12 synthesizing the image light of the respective color components from the plural liquid crystal panels 9, 16 and 21, and a projection lens 13 projecting the outputted light from the color synthesis means 11 and 12 to a screen; and field lenses 31, 32 and 33 are provided between the liquid crystal panels 9, 16 and 21 and the color synthesis means 11 and 12, and the focal distances or the arranged positions of the respective field lenses 31, 32 and 33 are individually set in respective optical paths, so that the transverse chromatic aberration of the projection lens 13 is corrected. |
