PURPOSE: To provide a pressure-sensitive recording material having a high color forming speed, imparting high developed color image density and excellent in light fastness, humidity resistance and oil resistance, in a pressure-sensitive recording material utilizing the color forming reaction based on the contact of an electron donating color former and an electron acceptive coupler, by using a compd. represented by a specific formula as the coupler. CONSTITUTION: A pressure-sensitive recording material consists of a sheet wherein microcapsules containing a color former dissolved in a high b.p. solvent are applied to the rear surface of a support such as paper and a sheet wherein a finely pulverized coupler is applied to the surface of a support. When the coating surfaces of both sheets are superposed one upon another and subjected to pressure printing such as writing to destruct the microcapsules, the color former and the coupler come into contact with each other to generate color forming reaction to form an image. As the coupler, a compd. represented by formula A and B are independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, a carboxy group, an acyl group, a hydroxy group, a nitro group or an ester group, R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, a phenyl group which may have a substituent or a naphthyl group which may have a substituent and n is an integer of 4-8) is used. |
