This invention relates to a storage system. By using said system, it is possible to provide, in a reduced ground surface space, a large number of storage units. The storage system has a generally circular ground form, is cylindrical in volume, and may have various heights as a function of the number of elements to be stored; it can be of the underground, surface or mixed type. It is comprised of a central shaft (2) supporting one or a plurality of rings (3) provided with radial supporting elements (6) which support the storage cells (4), and forming, as a whole, a vertical empty sector (10). Each of the rings (3) rotates freely and independently from the others with respect to the main shaft (2) so that it is possible to position each of the cells (4) of the rings (3) in the empty sector (10) so as to carry out, by using an elevator (12) running vertically in the empty sector (10), the loading and unloading operations through the door (13). |
