PURPOSE: To solve the deterioration in printing quality generated when a serial thermal head is used by arranging the upstream part in the forward feed direction of recording paper of a fixing lamp on the downstream side of the position of the upstream end part of a heating resistor row. CONSTITUTION: A serial thermal head is used in a thermal recording apparatus applying two or more kinds of heat energies by heating resistors to form an image. Fixing lamps 5a, 5b and a heating resistor row 3 wherein a plurality of heating resistors are arranged in parallel to the feed direction of recording paper are integrally provided. The width in the feed direction of the recording paper of the exposure regions of the fixing lamps 5a, 5b is made larger than the length of the heating resistor row 3. The position of the upstream part in the forward feed direction of the recording paper 7 of the exposure regions of the fixing lamps 5a, 5b is arranged on the downstream side of the upstream end part in this direction of the heating resistor row 3. |
