A lightweight motor housing (10) contains a revolving brush. A bag assembly (12) is sealable to the housing by an elastomeric retaining ring including a sealing and retaining bead received in a recessed slot area of a bag attachment collar. A shaft extension threaded on the motor shaft is urged, against the fan by resistance of a belt driving a revolving brush which continually tightens the shaft extension on the motor shaft. A stone shield is circumferentially spaced about the fan to block items impinging against the shaft extension.
