PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has a high initial grade and durability and good reliability in terms of a display grade and is free from the problem of passing-by of light between signal lines and pixel electrodes by uniformly irradiating a photosetting resin with UV rays to assure the polymn. reaction of the photosetting resin uniform, thereby preventing the residual unpolymerized parts of the photosetting resin from remaining. CONSTITUTION: Light shielding layers 301 are formed in, for example, parallel along signal lines 209 to provide light shielding only in the spacing parts between the TFTs 206 as well as the signal lines 209 and pixel electrodes 208. The light passing-by in these parts which heretofore occurs frequently is, therefore, obviated and even more, the irradiation with the UV rays capable of effecting the sufficient and uniform photosetting of the photosetting compd. without generating the unpolymerized parts of the compd. is executable at the time of forming liquid crystal layers in these parts. |
