<p>The rotating cutting head is constructed to carry one or more, preferably three, cutters (3) mounted on pivots (4). The cutters may be of a variety of shapes, but are preferentially L-shaped and are free to rotate around the pivots. The cutters are held in position and fitted between an upper (1) and lower (2) disk. Under the action of centrifugal forces, when the head is rotated, the cutters take up a position where the cutting edges (7) form a sliding/cutting angle (alpha) of around 45 degrees with the radial line, passing through the centre of rotation (9) of the head and the pivot axis (4) of the cutter.</p> |
