PURPOSE: To prevent missing of dot at a melting point of a diagram by plotting lines in such a manner that a straight line having a width of odd dot is thickened by one dot in a predetermined direction, the straight line is extended by a half length of the width of odd dot, and it is further extended by a length of one dot when the width of the straight line is of even dot. CONSTITUTION: Two X-coordinates of points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are compared. When they are equal, two Y-coordinates of the two points are compared. When the Y-coordinates are also equal, a point of two-dot×two-dot is plotted (S700-730). When the Y-coordinates are not equal, a vertical line having a two- dot width obtained by thickening a vertical line having one-dot width by one dot in the lateral direction is plotted. When the X-coordinates are not equal, the Y-coordinates of the two points are compared. When they are equal, a lateral line having a two-dot width obtained by thickening a lateral line having one-dot width by one dot in the vertical direction is plotted (S740-750). It is tested whether the width of the plotted straight line is of even dot or odd dot. When it is of even dot, interpolation in the longitudinal direction is performed (S770-780).
